Terms of Service
Inner Wellness Natural Medicine
Effective Date: 16th April, 2025
At Inner Wellness Natural Medicine, we are dedicated to providing high-quality naturopathic care in a safe, ethical, and respectful environment. By booking an appointment—either in-person or online—you agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Naturopathic Care & Client Responsibility
Naturopathy uses lifestyle modifications, nutrition, herbal and homeopathic medicine to support physical and emotional health. However, naturopathic treatments are not intended to replace medications, diagnoses, or treatments prescribed by your GP or medical specialist.
As a client, you agree to:
-
Provide accurate and complete details of your current and past prescriptions, supplements, medical history, and diagnoses.
-
Inform your practitioner (Tanya Lowe) of any changes to your health status, medications, or new diagnoses—including pregnancy or breastfeeding—at future appointments.
-
Understand that treatments are tailored based on the information you provide, and incomplete disclosure may affect your care.
2. Use of AI-Assisted Note-Taking
We may use AI-powered clinical software (e.g., Heidi Health) to assist with consultation documentation. This software supports efficient note-taking and is designed to respect your confidentiality.
-
Temporary audio recordings (not linked to personal details) may be used during the note-generation process.
-
These recordings are automatically deleted within 48 hours.
-
No full names or contact information are included in these files.
3. Functional Testing Partners
If you proceed with functional testing as part of your care, we may refer you to one or more of the following trusted laboratories:
-
Nutripath
-
Cobiome by Microba
-
InterClinical Laboratories
-
I-screen
-
BeFunctional
These laboratories operate under their own privacy and data handling policies. Test results will be used solely for your clinical assessment and treatment planning.
4. Telehealth Terms and Information
a. What is Telehealth?
Telehealth appointments are consultations held via secure video conferencing (using platforms such as Zoom or Cliniko). These appointments allow you to receive naturopathic care from the comfort of your home.
b. Your Consent
By booking a telehealth appointment, you agree to receive care remotely. This may include discussing personal and health information via video or phone. While every effort is made to ensure privacy and confidentiality, there are limitations with any technology, and you accept this risk.
c. Confidentiality and Technology
We use encrypted, secure platforms to protect your information. Your consultation is not recorded, and your data is managed in accordance with our [Privacy Policy] and Australian Privacy Principles.
d. Limitations of Telehealth
Telehealth may have some limitations compared to face-to-face visits. If your condition requires physical examination or testing that cannot be performed remotely, we will refer you to a suitable health professional.
e. Emergencies
Telehealth is not suitable for medical emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical crisis or urgent symptoms, please call 000 or attend your nearest emergency department.
f. Your Responsibilities
To participate in a telehealth consultation, you must:
-
Ensure you have a reliable internet connection and a quiet, private space
-
Be honest and thorough in providing health information
-
Advise us if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking new medications
5. Recording or Filming Sessions
To maintain a safe and respectful environment, it is strictly prohibited for patients or clients to record, video, or audio record any consultation or session without prior written consent. This includes the use of mobile phones, cameras, or any other recording devices during appointments.
Recording without consent may violate both confidentiality and privacy rights, and as such, any unauthorised recording may result in the immediate termination of services and may lead to legal action if required.
If you would like to record a session for your own personal use, please seek written consent beforehand, ensuring that both parties are fully aware of the terms under which such recordings would occur.
We value the privacy and confidentiality of all clients and expect that any recordings made during consultations are conducted in accordance with the highest ethical and legal standards.
